How To: Turn Your Personal Handwriting into a Custom Font for a More Unique Look

Turn Your Personal Handwriting into a Custom Font for a More Unique Look

There are thousands of fonts you can download online. Some are free, some you have to pay for, but they all have something in common—if you can get them, so can everyone else. If you want a truly unique font that no one else is using, you have to make your own, and what's more unique than your own handwriting?

If you've got a printer and a scanner, MyScriptFont will help you turn your scribbles into a custom font that only you can use. It's a great way to add a personal touch to digital documents or get exactly the look you want in your design work.

The process is super easy. Just download and print out the template, then fill out the letters with a black pen (the site recommends using one that's medium-thick with a felt tip). Once you're done, scan it in greyscale and upload it to MyScriptFont by clicking Choose File.

Give your font a name, choose a format, and click Send File. The site will generate your font, which you can download by right-clicking it and saving it to your desktop.

Before you can use your new font, you'll need to install it. On most systems, you can just double-click to open a preview of the font and click Install in the top left corner. If that doesn't work, take a look at the instructions on MyScriptFont for your operating system. Most of the time it's just throwing the file in the correct system folder and that's it.

Just updated your iPhone? You'll find new emoji, enhanced security, podcast transcripts, Apple Cash virtual numbers, and other useful features. There are even new additions hidden within Safari. Find out what's new and changed on your iPhone with the iOS 17.4 update.
